aim-to-pace.ai

Working with AI, living with it, having fun with it — from someone who already slept through the last big upheaval once.

When the internet came along, I was right in the middle of it and yet only watched, consumed, raised an eyebrow, swam along and took what I could. This wave, I’ll be there on purpose. AI is analogous to the history of the internet — only a thousandfold. AI fascinates, it’s fun, it opens doors or tears the walls down outright. And yes, it rightly scares us too.

We’re sitting in a jet plane and don’t know where we’re racing to.

AI is the problem and the solution at once. The wildest journey of humankind is happening right now, and I’m making it an active holiday — not just “AI? Interesting! Let’s see what else comes along!”, but being right in the thick of it, getting my hands dirty and keeping my head switched on.

The gap between what is already technically possible and what most people understand or use of it grows wider every day. I think I can contribute something there — and offer one or two of you a dirty hand to shake.

Here I write about structured prompting, methods over hype, frameworks over news recaps, solutions, ideas, approaches that work — or sometimes fail spectacularly. My runway for takeoff and landing is called aim-to-pace.ai.

Honest, hands-on, and served with Käsespätzle und Soß’ (Swabian cheese spaetzle and gravy).

Background: 25+ years in IT, many of them as a technischer Halbleiter (a German pun on “semiconductor” — half conductor, half manager). I still want to know more and do more myself than is good for me, and that occasionally drives my team up the wall. But for about 15 years now I’ve no longer been a developer, just a mouse-pusher and manager.

Today: Product Owner for ServiceNow.

Last week, on the side: built and shipped a holiday-planning website for a road trip with friends, cooked up my first browser plugin, and programmed a block game with my son on a rainy afternoon.

On the left is my son’s easter egg, where he plays Tetris inside Tetris. I love him for it :-)

AI makes this possible!
